The Project

The Global Energy Materials Innovator for Solar and Energy New Materials (GEMI) is a project sponsored by KETEP. This funding enables students to start their graduate program on the field of soft materials, focusing on solar cell fabrication and evaluation by using nanoink printing process. 


The GEMI Project is a joint research program, allowing the students join the Soft Matters Laboratory in SKKU and work in collaboration with Utah Nano-Energy Research Group (Utah University) and the Bioinspired Materials and Mechanical Systems Laboratory (Johns Hopkins University). 

Requirements and Benefits 


  • We are looking for 2 motivated students to join this project. 

  • The joint research term will be conducted from July 2021 to June 2022. For a period of at least 6 months within the research term, the students will be dispatch to the above mentioned laboratories in the USA.

  • At least one joint paper will be published from the conducted research.

  • Salary: Master course 1,800,000 won/month

                Doctor course 2,500,000 won/month​

  • Cost of stay: 1,800,000 ~ 2,000,000 won/month


  • All expenses required for departure are supported (Visa, Flight Ticket).
